Does anyone know if there exists a way to add a component or custom box to an alert that will automatically generate a timestamp and name of the person making a note in the "alert notes" section of an alert? Right now there is basically a notepad window where someone can make notes. Unfortunately, there are several drawbacks to this. First, there isn't any way to automatically document who makes a comment or when it was made. The person has to annotate their name, date, time manually. Second, any note put in the alert will remain indefinitely even after the alert is cleared an no longer in effect. The next time it alerts, the same note will exist. Which brings me back to the first drawback, there is not way to know how old or who put the note in the alert without a timestamp. I guess I'm looking for some sort of transaction log capability for an alert that's triggered so the OPS person has a status on what action has been taken on the alert.
I am not using the Alert Central product, using the built in alert functionality.
Has anyone come across this yet or done some custom work?
Thank you,
Jan
