Disk space monitoring and tsmlvsacache folders.

MY company's server manager asked that I base my disk space alert threshold off of the folder/file size of tsmlvsacache.

Anyone run into this? 

Basically he does not want to get an alert in the middle of the night for something that is caused by a backup running.

My only thought would be to try and populate a  customized node property with something that could be subtracted in the alert calculation... but that seems kind of messy let alone how to do it.

I'm wondering if this would be a bad thing to do... if I can't change the alert trigger using the alert interface how about if I change it by manually editing it?  In my above request, if I "add" a custom property call  say node.TsmSpace?
