Switch Interfaces Go To 'Warning' State - Can't Figure Out Why

I've got some switch interfaces that go into a 'warning' state for a few minutes from time to time and I don't seem to be able to figure out why.

The interfaces don't go down, there are no errors reported on them, there are no alerts or events associated with them in Solarwinds, there are no syslog entries associated with them.

They may be physical interfaces, port channels, svi's or even just vlans.

Solarwinds must be seeing something amiss with them but I can't seem to convince it to tell me what it saw.

Anyone know how to go about addressing this?

I can say it could be related to sensor alert, did you checked the all sensor related event on interface/node? .

share you please screenshot for reference for further analysis,

I don't think I know exactly what you mean 'all sensor related events on interface / node'. I can say that I'm not seeing any alerts or events on either the interfaces or nodes.

Screen shots below of an interface exhibiting this behavior (let me know if they don't show the relevant information). If the pattern holds, I'll see it go out of warning in a few minutes.

One of these could be breaching a threshold - I'd open each one and check the raw data.

Thanks, One more question for you - Are these switches belongs to POE?, If yes, then alert for h/w sensor threshold reach into warning status.

alert will appear in "h/w details- Sensor" node details page.

Hello.

Your screenshot is hard to read but I can see that the (operational) status is gray = unknown.

Check whether that is always the case and whether Orion is able to get all the required object IDs via snmp from the device: Success Center

I'm seeing this on multiple switches but the one I am concentrating on at the moment is not POE.

The hardware sensors are all 'up' except for 7 that are undefined.

I'm not able to find the 'List Of Interface Charts' pictured above. Is that a specific widget that I can add?

In any event I am able to see off of those metrics in other charts I have and none is over a threshold.

I am sure that Solarwinds is able to get the objects with SNMP. But I'm wondering about that. Suppose that for some reason the SNMP response for a particular interface is delayed from time to time. Would that lead to an interface being set to a 'warning state' until the next successful poll?
