High Transmit Discard errors on contigous gig ports 6509 router

Have an odd problem where eight contigous ports on a 6509 router are showing the same high amount of transmit discard errors

gig ports 1/1 -1/8, with exception of gig1/1 and gig1/4 (these do not have anything connected) show a total of 847,840 transmit discard errors since midnight today. This has been an on going issue for the past month. I have read:

but I am not sure if it a buffer issue as the command: how counters interface | include qos3Outlost  shows 0 output for qos3Outlost.

Has anyone run into this issue?

but in my case is on a catalyst 4707
