SWQL Studio communication with Dedicated Database (MS-SQL) server fails?

Hi,

I installed Orion NPM+NTA in a dedicated server and Microsoft-SQL 2008 SP2 in another dedicated server. In NPM+NTA, I could see database instances and entries are configured in MS-SQL server. But when I use SWQL Studio from my laptop to directly query the MS-SQL, I am unable to connect. I suspected the default port of MS-SQL 1433 should be changed as I could see from SWQL studio request is making to port 17777 but changing or adding two ports (1433 or 1433/17777) in MS-SQL server did not solve the issue.

What could be the reason that the SWSQL studio communication to MS-SQL server fails?

SWQL Studio will be unable to connect to the Microsoft SQL Server directly. SWQL Studio is only able to connect to the Information Service that resides on the Orion Server. If you need to directly connect to the SQL Server, please use the Microsoft SQL Studio Manager.
