I want to try and replace a groundwork (nagios) solution with solarwinds. I need to monitor external customers that have a single tunnel into our network each.
1) All access right now is designed through a single linux server per customer. Direct routing to the devices on the customer side is not possible.
2) Each customer has 5-20 devices we monitor.
Only thing I have been able to imagine right now is:
1) Replace the linux server with a windows server and use a solarwinds poller. Seems crazy for limited number of devices. It would be nice to have a linux based solarwinds poller option in this case though.
2) Install a proxy on the linux server. SAM could maybe proxy poll? NPM dosnt have proxy polling.
If anyone has ideas or has created solutions to something like this please share anything that may help.
