Hey Guys ;
my Company is using NPM 9.5 but we have some trouble with our "exotic" hardware ... we using Benning Equipment & Fibrolan Metrostar
is it possible to compile this in the MIBS database ?
thanks
Can you elaborate. Are they showing up as unknown and you want that fixed or are the MIB's just not in our MIB DB for UnDP and traps?
ok
the Fibrolan / Metrostar Devices showing up as Fibrolan devices so they are well known but the Device self is not explored by RFC conform MIBs.. Fibrolan offers extra MIBs to get the infos like Link Status for the Converter Cards
the RFC standard reads the device but dont show any ConverterCard i have for this on a unix system to use the OIDs
i was checking with the SNMPbrowser from Engineeringtools whats in the MIBS in and what not ...
for example :
.1.3.6.1.4.1.4467.100.100.10.2.1.2.1 ---> Powersupply 1
.1.3.6.1.4.1.4467.100.100.10.3.1.5.1.1 ---> Fibre To Remoteside
.1.3.6.1.4.1.4467.100.100.10.3.1.7.1.1 ---> RemoteDevice
.1.3.6.1.4.1.4467.100.100.10.3.1.8.1.1 ---> RemoteCopper
thats finaly what i need to be in the MIBS.cfg
the other exotic devices are with the same problem... some shown up as unknown but this is not a problem ... as long i can read the important infos like linkstatus
thanks for your help
We are seeing missing MIB's with the latest MIB.CFG file.
We had requested the McAfee MIB's be added, they were, now they are gone again.

Check out this post for instructions on updating your MIB. Also, you can add MIBs to our Unknown Devices post that are updated by development at many of the product releases.
