Multiple generations of dependency

How do I go from my current dependcey system of;

WAN RTR - LAN

WAN RTR - FireWall - Switch 1 - Switch 2

It depends on any redundant paths. Is your topology

1) PE----WAN router--FW-- sw1---sw2--- LAN

2) PE--- WAN Router -- FW-- --\SW1----LAN

--\SW---- LAN

...where LAN is reachable by either switch via connection to the FW.

Also, what do you want to accomplish by creating a string of dependenciess?

First description would be accurate. We are trying to reduce the alert clutter when a firewall goes down & takes out the many switches behind it.

One method would be to create 2 groups. One with the PE, WAN router and FW and the other group with the switches and all other LAN side managed devices. Make the lan devices group dependent on the PE, router, FW group and make sure the status rollup on the PE, router, FW is set to worst
