Packet Loss measurement on NetPath, "bugged" with 8.1% packet loss

Hi all,

Is this co-incidence? Many NetPaths created (including 2 NetPath services on the https://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/ site) always show the end destination hop with a magical number of 8.1% Packet drop.

Have any other Thwacksters come across such behavior in their NetPath setups? Unable to troubleshoot the real cause of the Packet drops but strange that three services (see below) show the same percentage drop.

Is this co-incidence or bug?

It would really help, if SW could add some more troubleshooting wisdom to include probable causes.

No, I haven't seen the issue before. The NetPath demo data also looks new to me. We can reach out to demo team and check how the demo data was generated, then see if we can replicate...

I used NetPath heavily ever since we got Orion. I don't know what caused it, but mid-year this year I started getting reports of packet loss and latency in our network for all different NetPath's I had setup. I started troubleshooting and quickly learned they are false and opened a ticket with Orion to troubleshoot. Orion team wasted about 2 months of my time supposedly troubleshooting and looking into the issue when in reality nothing was probably happening on the back end. They just kept asking for debug after debug. I got tired of it so I deleted all of my NetPath configs and don't use it anymore as I didn't see a resolution to this. My bigger problem was absolute lack of support from them and extremely poor communication skills. We will re-evaluate Orion's position in our company in the future.
