Monitoring public and private networks on one box.

I have both ORION and EE installed on one box.

Which the current setup we monitoring is basicly over a publicly available network. My question is....

We would like to add a large private 10.x.x.x network to be monitored also. Can this be done? If yes what would it involve?

Hayden, This can certainly be done. You need to consider the following, and possibly more:

• Do I have the correct version of Orion? How Many nodes/interfaces/volumes are to monitored?
• Do I need to have Standard or Enterprise Edition of SQL? How much data is going to be collected, retention period, roll-up schedule, etc.
• Should I use multiple pollers? What is the physical topology? What is the security policy of monitoring DMZ's? Do I want to monitor remote networks through the WAN?
• Can I connect to or route to the private network?
• What devices do I need to configure to allow access for Orion to poll (ICMP and/or SNMP)the network?
