"Special" characters in view names? (make up your minds)

In 8.1 I had the following view name for a custom view: "Notes & Details of Down Nodes". In 8.5.1, it tells me, "View name cannot contain invalid characters". The "&" wasn't accepted in the previous version, why not 8.5.1?
