Problems after upgrading to sp5 on 9.1 (Web Console)

everything seemed to go ok, however when i browse to the web console, the maps appear ok, but when i click on a device the web page just times out so i cant go on and see any of my stats, the alerts and reports are all working fine it just seems to be the links to the devices.

Any ideas?

Check out your Node Details summary view under the admin panel - try the 'preview' button - does it work there?
Maybe if you remove any extra resources from the Node Details summary view?

Hi all,

When you start getting timeouts in the web console, your should enable the DEBUG mode of the web console and analyze the \Inetpub\OrionWeb.log file to see which resource is taking long time to be retrieved.

To put the Web Console in the debug mode, open the \Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion\LogAdjuster.exe utility.

Set the Orion Website level to DEBUG and click on OK.

Reproduce the Timeout error.

Make a copy of the OrionWeb.log file.

Rerun the Log Level Adjuster and set the Orion Website logging levels back to WARN.

If you are not sure how to read the OrionWeb.log file, feel free to post it. Alternatively open a support ticket.

Cheers I cant connect to the devices from anywhere on the web console.

Have you NTA installed or was it previously installed? Some legacy files might still be there and could cause the issue.

Anyway you should try the following:

Stop the WebSite . Start > run > inetmgr + ok. Right-click on the SolarWinds NetPerMon website and click on stop.
Empty the \Inetpub\Solarwinds\Orion folder
Start > All Programs > Solarwinds Orion > (Configuration and Auto-Discovery >) Configuration Wizard
Select website and click on next.
Follow the steps

If that does not work, please go ahead and submit a ticket. Do not forget to attach the diagnostics once received the case number by email.
