Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Monitoring objects in the DMZ
NathanA
Is anyone using ONPM to track servers/routers/switches in the DMZ? I wondered if there were specific ports in the firewall that had to be opened for Orion to track network performance in the DMZ, or if it was just easier to leave a server running ONPM out there. If a server is left in the DMZ, do you have to have a seperate SQL database, or can ONPM come through a port to a SQL server in the 'safe' zone?

Seems to me all you need is SNMP and Ping opened up from ur ONPM server to the management interfaces of your devices. That's how we are doing it.

If you want to have full visibility to devices in your DMZ from your inside network ICMP and SNMP need to be opened up to the DMZ from the inside network.
