In a scenario where alerts are only generated between 9am & 5pm, should a node fail outside of these hours and still be down when 9am ticks over. Should an alert then be generated?
Yes an alert will be generated at 9am but it will state that the node went down at 9am, not the actual time that the node went down.
Just to update, incase anyone else had this problem. For some reason this just wouldn't work so I ended up contacting Solarwinds support. They advised that the action would be that once the in hours started, an alert would not be generated. As a workaround, I have written up a report for nodes down during the out of hours time period.
Possibly this is due to the version code being quite old, 10.1.3

Must be as I tested this on my setup where I took a node down at 8:50am (so out of hours) and I got notified it was down at 9am (in hours).
