DirectLink NOC View

We have a large monitor in our support room intended to be a non-interactive display that refreshes every 5 minutes. I have setup the DirectLink account with a specific NOC view that has the WorldMap with some nodes and an OpenWeatrherMaps overlay. The system that runs the board is highly locked down. No Mouse or Keyboard inputs allowed after the OS comes up. It comes up, auto logins to the system and then calls Chrome to display the NOC view URL I provided. This all works well. However, I'm finding that when other users who are logged into SolarWinds session timeout, they are put back in as DirectLink. How do I stop this behavior? Since all of them default to DirectLink and are refreshing every 5 minutes, the WorldMap with the OpenWearterMaps overly is using up all my allowed API calls.

You can't really stop it, that is the way directlink works, it auto logs people in without prompting for any credentials.

You could set it up so automatic windows login is enabled and I think that would take precedence over getting automatically punted to the DL account, but in most cases I find directlink to be enough of an annoyance that I just don't use it. This could also allow you to bypass the need for directlink anyway since you could just map the the account that your NOC screen uses in windows to the same views as you had with directlink. I also feel like having directlink on is a bit sketchy on the security side of things since anyone who comes across the url of your solarwinds instance would be able to take a look around with the same permission as your NOC team.

Appreciate your input and I agree that DirectLink may create more issues then it solves. As for disabling it and using the service account with windows pass through. I need this screen to go right to that NOC view when its rebooted. If I require a login screen, even with pass through enabled, I'm prompted by the browser to login and have no way to pass those credentials short of creating some screen macro that does it I suppose. But, that session will timeout also.

If the passthrough is working correctly (usually it depends on your browser) you don't get a login prompt, it just automatically logs into solarwinds.
