Can orion monitor Linux servers?

I am trying to eval the product but can not monitor a Linux box, is this possible? I thought since it is SNMP it should work.

I am not that familiar with Linux but the first question seems to be: Is SNMP running on your Linux box?

Yes, We are monitoring with Compaq Insight Manager but I can not reach it with Solarwinds.

If you have SNMP configured properly on the linux box it should work fine. I monitor RED HAT here. We monitor all *ix flavors. SCO/HP/TRU64/VMS The trick is just configuring SNMP properly and this varies from platform to platform.

what SNMP daemon are you using? Is it net-snmp? If so could you provide a sample of the conf file?

Yes, it is indeed possible. I'm monitoring traffic 40+ Linux routers (PCs) and 300+ Linksys wireless routers, also running on Linux.
