ORION 7.8.5 Configuration Wizard

I moved my ORION server to a new hardware. When running the configuration wizard, I get the following error when it is about to install the services: Run-time error '9': subscript out of range. This stops the process and the Wizard stays incomplete.

ORION Version 7.8.5 on a Windows 2003 SP2

I'm suspecting
that the problem may be with the .net framework

which w2k3 installed with latest update- try removing the 3.0 .net framework-

or might I encourage you to upgrade to 8.1? soon to be 8.5 :-)

I have Orion 7.8.5 and I remove the Dot Net Framework 3.0 and I am still getting the same error as the gentleman above "Runtime error9: Subscript out of range."

Did you reinstall the 2.0 .net framework?

When do you receive this error? Is it when you run the configuration wizard?

You might try to reinstall .Net FrameWork and restart the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service. This error message may be a generic VB error but when it
comes to Orion it usually involves how the DTC service is interacting with .Net
Framework.

it seems to happen after the Config Wizard builds the site, and I click continue to add services. I just reinstalled 2.0 dot net framework, and restarted DTC, and then reran the config wiz, and to no avail. On top of that the site does not get set up (I get the "the webpage could not be displayed" message). I went into IIS and it is indeed set up properly. I tested by setting the 'Default Web Site' to the same ip and port, (after stopping the Solar Winds site) and I can get THAT page to display. sigh

Hello, I'm having the same problem.

Older server died and attemping to reinstall on newer 2K3 server. We are going to purchase the uprade, but would like to get ver 7 back online.

I'm having the excact same issue.

Fresh installation of Windows Server 2003 + sp2 + all security updates + .Net Framework 3 (and updates)

I can bring up the Wizard and click "Install Services" - which will always result in "Run-time error '9': Subscript out of range.

This is a rather big deal for us as we're testing the latest broadband v8 which needs to be upgraded from v7 - so until this issue is solved we're stuck

Upgraded from 7.8 to 7.8.5.

tried to upgrade from 7.8.5 to 8.5.1 and it failed dismally.

tried to re-install 7.8.5 and started getting this error.

nice rock and a hard place issue cant go forward and cant go back.

if anyone has a work around for this error would really like to hear it.
