which UID is used to read out the discards on an i

I need to update a problem case at our local ISP concerning discards on an interface of his equipment but I need to know which UID is used.

Do you mean OID?

If so here it is:

The root for what you want is interfaces -> 1.3.6.1.2.1.2

ifInDiscards -> .2.1.13

ifOutDiscards -> .2.1.19

You will have an index value for each one of these OIDs based on the number of interfaces on the device.
