Stop Processing Trap Rules broken in TrapViewer 9.1.5

I recently upgraded from SL250 to SL500. I think there was also an application upgrade when I did it. I had previously setup some "ignore" trap filters with an "email all" rule at the bottom to send the rest through. After the upgrade I noticed a flood of emails. So I looked into it and it looks like the action "Stop Processing Trap Rules" is broken in TrapViewer 9.1.5.

Is anyone else having this problem?

It seems this is a known bug (bug id# 7949). I'm waiting to hear back from SolarWinds on a work around or how to downgrade.

I am experiencing the same unexpected behavior with the action "Stop Processing Syslog Rules" in Orion Syslog Viewer 9.1.3. I tried this with newly created rule, which captured Syslog message and executed the action (execute external program) upon receiving the specified message type. Unfortunately this action produced the same type of message, which was captured by the rule again ... Thus I ended in a loop with the flood of the same Syslog messages. I was expecting to resolve this situation with the action "Stop Processing Syslog Rules", but with no success.

Syslog Viewer and Trap Viewer are separate code bases, and I don't think we changed either. I'd recommend that each of you open a ticket, include diagnostics, and reference this thread.

Thanks for the info. As above I've been given a bug ID and I have opened a ticket. So far nothing back from SolarWinds on this. I have seen other posts complaining of the same behaviour in the SyslogViewer app.

I had same issue with trap stop processing on ticket case #64387. The support person acknowledged it was a bug and havent heard any updates since.

I just spoke with SolarWinds tech support again and he had no update for me. Apparently he's being ignored by the developers. He also told me he has three other calls in with the same issue. That's just one guy. Imagine how many others there are.

I am told by Joseph that when these bugs appear on this board the developers are quicker to react. So I'm posting here. I have completely disabled my email traps which is having a huge operational impact on my company. I need this fixed please!
