Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Disk space alerts and suppression
jimmo
Hi All!
We would like to set up alerts based on the percentage of space used, for example, 95%. In some cases, the reamining 2% represents several gibabytes and in others only a few megabytes. Therefore, it often does not make sense to report a system that still has several gigabytes free space. So, it would make sense perhaps to supress messages in certain cases.
This is where I run into a big question. I can create a supression based on bytes available (for example). However, when selecting the network object, there is no entry that say something like "the current object". Instead it seems that if I were to select suppress when fee space > 1GB and select 10 objects then if any of the objects have more than 1GB, it alert is supressed. This means I would need a separate alert-suppression pair for every single filesystem that I am monitoring. Is that correct, or am I missing something?
Regards,
Jim Mohr
