Report on interface bandwidth, not speed

Just noticed in report writer that I am only able to report on the Interface Speed, not the bandwidth. Example: I have 100mb port but only 5mb bandwidth available on that (MPLS). Anyway to run the report on the bandwidth, not speed?

I believe you can edit that interface and select option to use custom bandwidth, setting your 5 Mb there.

also, using the bandwidth statement on the devices interface, Orion will update appropriately, but beware this could affect routing depending on what protocol you are using.

Thanks but the custom setting is already at 5mb. Problem is that in Report Writer, I only see options for Interface Speed which reports the actual speed available on the interface (100mb).

Setting the interface bandwidth on the switch isn't an option.

On the interface add this command:

bandwidth 5000

That means a bandwidth of 5Mb. If you want a T1 use "bandwidth 1544".

We have added this to all of our interfaces and it works perfectly.

Unfortunatly, not an option as this would effect EIGRP routing algorithms

Yes, yes it would. Sorry about that. But it is the only way I know of to tell Solarwinds the speed of the circuit.

We are looking at this good question. Just to make sure, you are fine with putting the 5MB in a custom property, but want to change the report and "force" the report to look at it vs. the std speed. Is that right?

Is this a custom report or changing an existing one delivered with the product? If an existing one, which one is it?

Any update on this , I am also facing the same issue.

I have manually set the interface bandwidth from EDIT INTERFACE button under interface.

But in REPORTS it is still showing the default bandwidth , not the manually set bandwidth .

How i can see manual set bandwidth in reports?

Had this problem too, but found the solution:

Rather than the value Interface.InterfaceSpeed, use Interface.InBandwidth and Interface.OutBandwidth .

Rather than bug my SQL database engineer, what I did was to make a custom SQL report like so:

SELECT TOP 1
*
FROM
Nodes INNER JOIN Interfaces ON (Nodes.NodeID = Interfaces.NodeID)
WHERE
Nodes.Caption = ' *Node name you want to check * '

To basically give me a 1 row table with ALL the possible variables.

Note that basically all the variables will have custom names in the field formatting, so you still need to do some searching, but much less.

Also, you might want not available to Web Console if you have saved some private information as one of the custom properties or such. (you'll need export this report to a txt/xls file to make it viewable though)
