95th Percentile Reports

I am trying to write a Monthly 95th Percentile Utilisation report for each WAN interface on my network. Is this possible within Orion Report Writer? Or do I have to run a custom report on each node each month?

Andy,

This is great but you may want to get that lunch back from your SQL Guru (or a least a replacement). This particular format will leave out the last day of data from last quarter as it produces a timestamp of midnight on the last day of the quarter. That means that all of the data between from 00:01 to 23:59 on that last day would get left out. To pick up that last day of the quarter you would need to use:

SET @StartDate = DATEADD(qq,DATEDIFF(qq,0,GETDATE())-1,0)

SET @EndDate = DATEADD(qq,DATEDIFF(qq,-1,GETDATE())-1,0)

Of course if you have already summarized your data to daily averages it won't matter. I know it's picky but that last day could be a deal maker/breaker.

Just for reference for the other folks out there, you can change all references to qq above to any of the items in the table below to come up with the last "whatever" you are looking for. I've tested them all and they seem to work fine but please check yourself before you run to the boss with a shiny new report with all the wrong data! I struggled with this for a while so I hope it helps someone else.

To be sure I understand, you want one report for all WAN IFs or do you want one report per IF?

Ideally I would like one report which contained all the interfaces listed in order of highest to lowest.

Follow these steps

Open Orion Custom Property Editor All Programs -> SolarWinds Orion -> Grouping sand Access Control -> Custom Property Editor
Click Add Custom Property
Click Add a new Custom Property from scratch
Select Add properties to Interfaces
In Property Name type IsWAN (exactly as shown)
Property type Yes/No
OK
Click Interfaces at top of Custom Property Editor
Check off all WAN interfaces you wish to report on
Close Custom Property Editor
Copy the attached report to Program files -> SolarWinds -> Orion -> Reports
Open Orion Report Writer All Programs -> SolarWinds Orion -> Alerting, Reporting and Mapping -> Report Writer
Under Historical Traffic Reports click on WAN 95th Percentile Rate report (Last one)
Run the reportThis report was made by adding the following in bold to the existing query....WHERE (Interfaces.IsWAN = 1)ORDER BY NodeName, Interface_CaptionORDER BY NodeName, Interface_Caption........

WAN_95th_Percentile_Traffic_Rate_-_Last_Month.OrionReport

I've followed the instructions to the letter and it works but it's not quite what I'm looking for. The report is monthly and I'm really after quarterly, but more importantly this report needs to show 95th percentile utilisation as a percentage figure - the report above shows it as BPS. Any ideas? - Thanks for the help so far.
