SWJobEngineWorker.exe capping out system resources.

Memory and CPU is being capped out by multiple SWJobEngineWorker.exe processes. I have no less then 5 of these services running on both poller. One of the services gets up over 1.2 GIG with the other 4 in the 75 to 200 MB range each. I have tried rebooting the pollers, re-installing JobEngine.msi/InformationService.msi, verified I have no wireless on pollers, and disabled all UnDP.

I have case # 123932 open with support.

Any advice would be great.

I do this from time to time with support and it always solves that issue for me. Well for a time anyways.

Stop all SolarWinds services on main box. Then on main box.

goto c:\documents and settings\all users\Application data\solarwinds\jobengine (from memory think thats right) and you will find a jobengine35.sdf file. Rename it and copy the blank (named as such) version of that file to what the original one was. Then remove the read-only attribute.

Also go to the same location and their will be a logs directory. Throw all contents into a zip file just in case then delete everything in the directory.

Then restart services.

This always cuts my needed server resources by like 2/3s.

I did work with a Solarwinds tech and he had me do just that. Worked for me. But it worries me when you say it works "for a time"......

We are working on a permanent fix for this issue that will be released in the form of a hotfix, so that will hold you over, but fix will be coming soon

I know this is an old post, but i am having the same issue regarding the SWJobEngineWorker.exe*32 running multiple instances and hogging CPU resources. The hotfix you have suggested is for NPM 9. we are running the following:

I have a case open with tech support Case #226582 , but so far no luck.

any suggestions for our version of Orion products?
