I get this every now and then, but it seems like the service is running.

Actually, after som troubleshooting I found out that I was missing .NET Framwork 1.1, so I installed this and re- registered all .NET framork versions and ensured that IIS was set to 32 bits mode, followed this article: support.microsoft.com/.../894435 and now everytings seems good and fast- running.
I have also experienced some timeouts and veeery slow login on admin- page, but it seems like this did the trick.

mscorwks.dll belongs to the .Net Framework 2.0. the Syslog service seems to crash when it calls some functions from that library. Yet the status is still running...
I would recommend you to uninstall and then reinstall the .Net Framework 2.0 . You need to stop all the Orion services and the webconsole before to perform this as they use the framework too when they run.

I cant uninstall .Net v2 since it give me an error :
Microsoft.Net Framework 2.0 Servicepack 1 cannot be uninstalled because it will affect other applications that are installed.
