Database manager without SA

Is there a way to use the Database Manager without having SA priviliges on the SQL server? My DBA's will not allow SA connections outside the DBA group. I already have read write priviliges in the NPM database with the Orion user I created in the config wizard.

If not, maybe that would be good to include in a future release.

As far as I know it requires SA priviliges. I agree it would be a good feature to allow it to connect without SA.

I have the same issue with my MS SQL support team. However, we have a process where I contact them to enable SA privileges when I need to upgrade or install new software. Once that is done, the SA privileges are removed. Perhaps they can meet you halfway with that. Otherwise, tell your manager (and theirs) that you will need to have them dedicate a resource specifically to you - taking them away from other jobs when you could be doing this quickly and without their direct intervention except to grant and remove the privileges.

Currently I have to log onto another system and start SQL Query Analyzer to look at the data. I'd like to use the SolarWinds product. I guess I could install SQL Query Analyzer, but that is not a good solution for my environment.

You are correct Database Manager does require SA account. I will enter this into our issue tracking system.
