Upgrading 9.1.0 sp5 to 9.5 SQL 2005 issue

I am attempting to upgrade 9.1.0 sp5 to 9.5. The upgrade hangs and says SQL 2005 not installed. We are using SQL 2005 on a seperate server. The system works and the DBA says its active, but I have no idea how its working. There is no ODBC connector configured and the SQL servers are blank in Orion advanced tools. I dont see anywhere the server is setup.

How do I get the upgrade to complete with the seperate SQL server and how is this even working?

Sorry about the confusion. I re-read what you posted and it seems you might be having an issue with CLR integration.

Can you upgrade first and then move your DB using these instructions?

Thanks Mark,

I want to leave the database where it is on the SQL server. Its over 9G so I cant move it back to the Orion box on sql express.

Are you suggesting that I install sql on the orion server, move the database to the orion server, upgrade and move the database back to the sql server?
