Excluding volumes from servers for percentage alerting

I am trying to set up advanced alerts to alert when a volume goes over 95%, but there are some volumes that support does not want alerts on, can someone please explain how to exclude these? There are several servers being monitored and all have same volume names.

Since they all have the same volume name, you should be able to exclude it by adding a condition group like this:

Trigger Alert when none of the following apply

Caption contains SomeUniqueValue

------------------------------------------------------

Be sure to have the "Type of Property to Monitor" drop-down set to "Volume"

I have tried many different options and none seem to work. Systems support requested just alerts on / and /var volumes. I have tried putiing Caption is equal to / and Caption is equal to /var in trigger under all conditions must be met. Also tried putting under supress section with Caption is not equal to / Caption is not equal to /var hoping that would supress it for any other volumes. But alarm still triggers when tested for any volume I select.

Did you try setting custom properties on the volumes you are trying to monitor?

The Caption is the custom properties on which I am filtering. We have maybe 40 servers, many with some name volumes (such as the standard / , /var, /opt etc plus some such as /dev/hd5, /dev/lvhd5 etc) All I want to do is send a;ert on either / or /var over 95% but I have tried everything I can think of, including saying in trigger Caption equal to (volume i want to send on) have tried stating not equal to (volume I DON'T want to send on) under supression if not equal to / or /var , nothing works, every test sends out an alert..
