Do you want to monitor them more than you can with Orion today? What else do you want to see? Zones? VSAN's? CU's?
Were currently using Brocade switches. At this time were only interested in monitoring port utilization. It would be nice to be able to monitor CPU & Memory like Cisco devices, right out of the box.
We've got a couple HP Storageworks (Brocade) as well; it'd be great to get some CPU and other info as well.
Thanks,
Got CPU and Memory, ok. What "other info" would be good. Zones? Connectivity Unit Info? Sensor Details? WWN Names? etc.
Sorry. Yes, zones and connectivity would be awesome.
Thanks!
Is there anything else you would care about seeing?
We are currently using a mix of Brocade/Cisco MDS. I would like to see zones, VSANs and device aliases. I would like any zones/VSAN views to take advantage of these device aliases.
We have Cisco MDS units
This may be possible using a MiB but I haven't found the right OID yet. We want to be able to monitor not just individual port activity, but also bandwidth usage on backplanes, especially slot-to-slot. We tend to oversubscribe a little bit and it would be helpful to know when this might be causing performance issues.
We have Cisco MDS switches. Along with what others already stated, a host to port mapping / lookup feature would be nice. And a consolidated view of the host and all it's interfaces on one page.
we've got cisco and would love to see native monitoring of routing protocols and STP, possibly integrating this into network atlas to show active paths...
worth a shot
EDIT: woops, must've been tired when I read this...
I thought this was related to normal switches...
we actually use brocade fiber switches
Hi,
We have brocade elements already included in Solarwinds. However, NPM fail to show CPU and memory ulitization, do we still need to have the MIB of this elements be compiled or we'll just use the Undp. May I also what OID to be use to poll CPU and Memory utilization.
If this is the wrong place to ask, please point me in the right direction. I just added some of our Brocade and EMC/McData FC switches to Orion NPM. All show interface-specific data except for a pair of Brocade DS5000B switches. "List Resources" only shows lo0, eth0, and fc0. Any idea how I can get Orion to show me the other interfaces?
We are looking at the IF-MIB for interface info. If you MIB Walk this MIB, what is coming back? If it is not showing up there, you need to get with the vendor and find out why. May need to upgrade to a new OS version on the FC switch etc.
Monitoring of HP Storageworks (Brocade) FC switches would be great !
We are adding more depth around Brocade, Cisco MDS and McData in our next version. If you want to run the beta and check it out, send me a PM with you SWID
I've learned from our SAN Admins that we use. HP EVA 5000's. Are there any plans for these?
We don't have that device in our lab. I would suggest to try adding it when the next version comes out, it may work, but no guarantees. We are not claiming formal support for those.
I have a need to monitor the interfaces on a McData (Brocade) 6140. NOC needs info such as unused ports, zones, etc....
SNMP provides very little in 10.2.2
