SQL Database support

Hi all,

I have a question about the support of the SQL database for installing Orion and Cirrus.

Is the SQL Express officially supported ? or is it only SQL Server 2005 ? Which is the best database for an installation of Orion SL100 and Cirrus DL50 ?

Is there any problem of running Orion, Cirrus and the database on the same server ?

Both SQL versions are supported and should work fine. Keep in mind SQL Express has a 4GB limit. You should not have performance issues having all 3 on the same server. If you intend on using Netflow one day then you would want to consider having SQL on a separate server.

I just have a last question about the 4GB limit. Have you any idea about how much time it take to reach this limit ?

Using an SL100 you will be good for a long time. It depends on how aggressive you keep the monitoring settings and how long you want to keep the historical data.
