Orion Alert emails

Hi,

I am getting alot of e-mail from the Alert Manager that just say "Orion Alert" in the subjet.

This happend almost never before, but I have upgraded from 9.1 SL500 to 10.1.1 SL2000, and are getting 10-25 of these mail every day now.

Can't find a pattern in when I get those e-mails. It's sometimes 30min between 2 of them, and other times it 4 hours.

When I take a look in Alert Manager on active alerts. I can only find some other alerts about things that happend two days ago, and not any "Orion Alert" from today (I have gotten 8 of those mails so far today).

 

Anyone fimilliar with this, and have a solution?

have you check to see if some basic alert is causing it?  To get to basic alerts, you have to open the old windows fat management client and go to basic alerts there.

If you run these query, then you might be able to narrow it down.

Basic Alert:

SELECT AlertID
  FROM [NetPerfMon].[dbo].[AlertActions]
  Where [Extra1] like 'Orion Alert'

If something was returned, run:
SELECT AlertName
  FROM [NetPerfMon].[dbo].[Alerts]
  Where AlertID = 14

Advanced Alert:

SELECT AlertDefID
  FROM [NetPerfMon].[dbo].[ActionDefinitions]
  Where [Parameter1] like '%Orion Alert%'

If something is returned on this, run:
select Alertname
  from NetPerfMon.dbo.AlertDefinitions
  where AlertDefID = '<what you got back>'
