Sophos SNMP Polling Issue

Hi There,

We have a Sophos Email Appliance that is snmp enabled. There are certain OID that I am trying to poll through Universal Device Poller (UnDP)...however I get the error saying that the OID is not supported. Screen print attached. However, when I use another SNMP tool (apart from Solarwinds UnDP) to poll these OID (from the Orion Server itself) the stats are being polled correctly. I have checked with Sophos Support and they have convinced me that the issue is from Solarwinds. Have tried this on both NPM v9.5.1 and NPM 10.1.1 SP1....with the same results.

Can you let me know what the issue could be?

Hi Shailesh, Did you ever find a solution to this issue? I am running into the same error of OID not vaild.

OID is not supported means that the device does not have any information for the OID that you queried. You may want to use MIB Walk utility we include with NPM

Go into the Orion Install Directory:
1. 64 Bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion
1. 32 Bit: C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion
Open up the SNMPWalk.exe file
Enter in the Device IP Address and SNMP Connection information.
You can replace the OID of 1 to 1.3.6.1.4.1.2601. which should cover all of Sophos's MIBs in the tree
Press scan.

If you see 0 returned, then Sophos MIBs are not available from the device. If you do see results, you will be able to see what OIDs are available to be returned and the values.
