Hey fellow THWACKers ..
I need some help and not finding this on my own. I have a couple of APC Smart-UPS X 3000 but cannot figure out how to create an alert for the battery replacement indicator or if it is even possible. Anyone have an idea?
Do you have SAM? If so, you could write a poller that polls the replace Indicator field.
Another option is to look at the log file on the UPS and see if any messages are logged for this. If so, you should be able to forward those messages to either syslogs or traps.
And lastly, you may be able to email alert from the device itself.

Create standard alert that look for “events” that match “%replace%” the poller is pushing ups events to events log
