Hi Nvalian--
You can either do a MIB walk of your device to get the OID for the E1 interface or you can go to the Cisco MIB Locator and look it up.
Once you have the OID, you can set up a Custom poller (UnDP) to monitor the E1.

Not sure about 8.5 but in 9.5.1 you can just select the different parts of the E1 interface...
Did my suggestions work for you? If so, can you post for the benefit of the community?
Hello All I'm facing about the same problem for monitoring E1 interfaces, now I'm facing some problems. I'm running NPM 10 and what i've done is got the index interface and created an alarm when the interface is down, but i'm receiving a lot false positives, emails that was supposed to be sent when the interface is down but they being sent when the interface is up. for some reason the system "thinks" that the interface is down but is actually up.
Are you sure there are not transitory interface failures? Maybe set the polling on one of those interfaces to 1 minute and see what is happening. I don't recommend keeping the polling period at 1 minute after the troubleshooting is finished.
