I can not get it to send me email alerts, all my settings look right but i get the following when i test:

Looks like an authentication issue with your SMTP server;

Most servers require a valid From address at the bare minimum...

or you are running and antivirus tool like McAfee 8 which by default blocks all outbound traffic on tcp port 25 (smtp)...
If this is the case you will have to uncheck this box to allow mail to be sent to the target server.
