Custom Resource - SQL Query based on Selected Node

Hello,

Can anyone tell me where to start looking at the following -

I have firewall logs sitting in SQL and would like to create a Resource that can be added to the Node Details page. So in simplest forms I would need to have a Resource that does a SQL query then ideally join it on [NetPerfMon].[dbo].[Nodes] IP_Address field... this way I can see all traffic flowing to/from a specific server. Would anyone know where I could start looking?
