Polling Engine Rate

HI,

Will anyone help to reslove high polling rate issue in NPM as attached detail of my Solarwind screen.

SolarWinds told me that each poller should be good for about 12k elements, however in my particular case our environment was approaching 100% with only around 10,000 elements. You're at over 13,000 so it's not surprising to see high numbers honestly.

Scale back on your polling intervals, and set your node status requests to icmp instead of snmp. Add more resources to your server if possible....

Thanks mbird and ctlswadmin .. i now working to reduce elements from my poller as currently increasing of resources are not easy. ..

Also in settings have a look at the hardware polling turn of anything you dont need.

Remove any interfaces that dont need monitoring.

im not sure how familiar you are with Orion but there are several ways to do this quickly.

The fastest bulk way is to go to Settings -> manage nodes -> in the very left column before name you should see an > which you can drop down to select the interfaces (etc) not used and tick them and click delete.

10466 elements on our primary and 500 odd on the other as we are moving some over but goes to show 10k is about the max
