Easy Map Links?

Hello,

We just upgraded from NPM 9.1 to 9.5 and one thing that I've found is that the maps are now much harder to link to. I have a webpage that rotates our different maps through an IFRAME. Previously the links looked like this:

NPMServer/.../MapView.asp

Now as far as I can tell, they look like this:

NPMServer/.../MapView.aspx

To get the new link, I right click on one of my nested maps and selected copy shortcut. Do the older more user friendly links still work or do we have to use the new format? (I have a top level map I can't get to work.)

Hi,

you should be able to access the map with its display name. So the link is like NPMServer/.../MapView.aspx

I agree. This made my life a lot more difficult. Curious to see SW response.

The other thing I've noticed is that the maps aren't nearly as friendly. Before the upgrade, I had 4 maps that were roatated through an IFRAME that changed every 30 seconds. It worked very well and our Service Desk really liked it.

Now, the maps will load for a little bit but by the time the second rotation comes around I get the following error: "An unexpected error occured" and the map doesn't load. The list of nodes and interface is still listed.

This is kind of a bummer as the monitor the maps were on has pretty high visibility and a lot of people were used to looking at it.

What SP are you on? As the maps are now stored in the DB the path is different than the past as indicated in the first post.

I'm on 9.5 SP3.

I know they are different but is there any chance we can still access them by name? The links look much better and they are easier to work with.
