Disable switch stack monitoring for single switches

Hello,

I have some 2960S switches plus additional cisco stack capable models that I am using as single switches. Right now I am getting alerts that their stack ports are having issues even though they are single member switches. Is there a way within solarwinds to disable the stack monitoring functionality on these devices specifically ?

I do not need stack monitoring on devices that I am not using as a stack.

Go to admin setting then manage poller find the Switch Stack Poller then click on assign

In this window just put the poller to off on the switch that are not stack

Thanks, this is just what I was looking for. Also, not all of my switches use power-stacking (2960S) or on switches that do they wern't setup that way for whatever reason. Anyway to also disable power stack monitoring as well on specific switches?

The stack power status must be embeded in the Switch Stack native poller, most probably cannot be disable for your stack that does not have power stacking, unless you create your own pollers for the stack there is no way to disable.

Any Solarwinds engineer around to confirm this?

Anybody here, do you know if there is way to disable stack using SQL directly in OrionDB ? We have numerous of such cases of single switch identified as stack and going one by one is time consuming.

Also the Settings->Poller management window doesnt allow to add for example column showing number of stack members - that would also help in such scenarios.

Hi mtalas.

You may be able to do this using a combination of a SQL update query and custom node properties. If you were to create a new node custom property, called "Stack_Switch", set it as a yes/no (aka 1 / 0, true/false) value, and then set the value to "No" for all switches that you do not want the poller assigned to.

You should then be able to use an select/update query to turn the poller off for these switches.
