Server Room Temperature Monitoring

Can Orion v7.8.2 be setup to monitor the temperature of a server room and how? I presume the air conditioner will need to have SNMP capabilities to accomplish this. If it doesn't what inexpensive options are there?

Currently Orion does not support custom mibs, but hopefully this will be sorted in the next major version. So whatever solution you decide on you will not be able to get the stats in a Orion until mibs are supported.
We use the enviromental monitoring capability of our APC UPS.
Hope this helps?

The bad with is that Orion currently has no custom MIB capability so you will not be able to monitor data like this through this application.....
you will need a network enabled gun tooting snmp supporting aircon unit to do this (big bucks).. however for about £300 ($500) you can get a dedicated snmp module with a temperature and humidity adaptor....

netcom-th should do you... you will need to order the TH module... it will also support contact closure UPS's as well... Sinetica also have an app called EDMS which can interface with the unit, log data and notify in the event of issues.... I use these in both my datacentres for power and climate and they haven't let me down in 4 years...
Just a thought
