We've finally ready to upgrade from our NPM 8.5.1 to the latest version. Is this fairly straightforward? We don't have to upgrade to an intermediate verions fist, do we?

You will need to first go to either version 9.0 or 9.1.
Note, however, that 9.5 does not support SQL 2000, but does now support both SQL 2008 (and 2005) and Windows 2008 Server. So if you're running SQL 2000, you'll need to upgrade to at least SQL 2005, if not 2008.
Check the Administrator Guide, under Requirements (starting on page 10) for exact details of what you'll need.
