MIB Update Question

It appears that MIB Updates come out on a monthly basis. What is the proper procedure to insure your MIBS are kept up to date? If I didnt apply October's Update and Apply November's Update, Am I completely up to date??

The MIB updates only pertain to the Solarwinds Toolset apps, not Orion.
They have no affect on the MIBs installed with Orion.

To answer your question;
Most likley the updates are incremental, so the latest one should include all previous updates (check the downloaded file size).

Mark, you have touched on a much discussed topic in these forums.
The short answer, is wait for the next version of Orion to be released.

The long answer can be found in these forums by doing a search for "custom mibs".

Then the READ me associated with MIB.cfg may need some attention.
The implication is that Orion can be updated in the same way as Toolset.

I'm not sure that was the long answer you spoke of.

1. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to your installation folder
and locate the MIBs.cfg file. By default, this is located in one of
the following locations:
* Cirrus: \Program Files\SolarWinds\Configuration Management
* Orion: \Program Files\SolarWinds\Common
* Toolset: \Program Files\SolarWinds\Engineer's Edition\

This post was 2 years ago when Orion was only in the early Version 7.x release (possibly 7.2?)

Now that we are at V8 it does indeed support custom MIBs & I believe this readme is most likely correct for this version.
(I've not yet loaded V8.1 on my server, so I have not yet worked with the custom MIBs in Orion).

yeah I have been trying to figure out how to update the MIBs for a v7 orion for a bit now. Maybe will just try and get a update to v8.1 since that will fix it?
