launching snmpd service causes 100% CPU usage

When I launch my snmpd server it shows the process starts to use 99.9% of my CPU! Anybody happen to know what could be the cause of this?

What OS is this? we had similar issues with certain unix versions. If it's unix make sure you're using 5.0.9 and you won't have so many problems. With that said it would be nice if we could use the newer versios sometime soon. perhaps with the fantom version 8?
