Alerts sending wrong information

Currently our Solarwinds system is receiving alerts as expected when events occur, however the alerts that are sent are not correct.

I have volume threshold alert rules triggering and sending emails for component threshold alert rules.

From: Location Component Status Reset [mailto:donotreply@us.com]
Sent: Tuesday, August 24, 2010 8:09 AM
To: admins

Cc:
Subject: Reset: ServerName ${ComponentName} ${ComponentStatus}

Node: Server Name

Component: ${ComponentName}

Status: ${ComponentStatus}

As you can see the component name is blank, because this was triggered not for a component, but for a volume being reset.

I am concerned that this could be data corruption.

Any thoughts would be helpful

try using table.column - i.e. ${Nodes.ComponentName} ${Nodes.ComponentStatus}

try using table.column - i.e. ${Volumes.ComponentName} ${Volumes.ComponentStatus}

Basically, they have to correlate to [tablename].[columnname]

I am not sure that I explained well enough.

All of my alerts have been working fine for months. I am not concerned with what data is being produced. I am concerned with why NPM is sending email alerts for an entirely different alert rather than the correct alert.

I am receiving component alert emails sent when an volume has outgrown it's threshold. The reason that the component name is blank is that this is not a component alert but a volume alert

Were you able to get this resolved? I'm experiencing the same thing, and hoping you might have found an answer.
