NPM 10.30 & ESXi / vSPhere 5 - somtimes not all resources are discovert

Hi Folks,

I got a strange problem here and hope someone can help me out or point me in the right direction.

I have 6 ESXi 5 (with U1) in my VSphere Cluster. SNMP is set up and all are reachable. I also got the vCenter Server  into Orion NPM. But when I discover the resources of the ESXi Server the result looks like this:

-     3 Servers discover everythin incl. Disks, RAM, NICs, etc.

-     1 Server discovers only the NICs

-     2 Servers discover anything at all, but I can stimm add them.

SNMP is up and running on every server and I already checked the Firewall setting on each ESXi

So, help please ;-)

Hi Sven,

           I have a similar issue with my ESXi 5.0U1 hosts as well.  I cannot poll any SNMP resources on them and during the resource discovery section of the "add node" wizard it seems to actually kill the snmp agent on the host.  These are HP dl360p G8 servers but I don't think it's specific to the hardware.  I had an open case with SW but I asked them to close it since my specific issue seems like a VMware issue so I'm going to go that route. I will update both postings once I find out more from VMware.
