NPM 10.3 Interactive Graphs

Before I upgrade, can anyone tell me whether the interactive graphs on 10.3 can be color-customized? One really annoying problem I've had for years with Orion is that the bandwidth graph colors are backwards. Traditionally, all SNMP graphing software such as MRTG and RRDTool would graph inbound traffic as green and outbound as blue. For whatever reason, SW decided to buck this longstanding and ingrained "standard" by transposing those colors. Every time I upgrade or patch NPM, I have to go in and manually edit two files: Netperfmon.Charts and NPM-NetPerfMon.Charts, which is very annoying. Our techs, since 1997, have been ingrained to look at bandwidth graphs as green = in and blue = out and I'm not about to try and retrain them to do the opposite when everyone else does it like MRTG.

I've never heard anyone complain about this, but it certainly makes sense. Unfortunately I'm not positive if this can still be manually changed. I'll check with dev to see if they can change the colors.

Well, I know I've brought it up before and I was told that perhaps MRTG and RRDTool should "change the way they do it". I cannot for the life of me figure out why the colors are backwards when every bandwidth graph I've ever looked at for the past 15 years has been green inbound and blue outbound. I understand that at this point, a lot of your customers are used to seeing it the way SW deems is "correct", but the ability to change the colors easily would be nice.

I've been manually changing them in the files I mention above, but it's a real hassle because I have to go through the files section by section each time I upgrade.

What I know unfortunately now isn't simple way how in the case of interactive graphs customize color. You can do it only in inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Charts\js\Charts.Colors.js, but I wouldn't recomend to do it, because in the case that you do some mistake if you will edit this file, interractive charts could stop working.

Unfortunately, I have no other choice. I always make a backup copy of any file I edit for Orion, so I would hope that if I mess something up, I could just replace it with the original.
