Removing nodes from alerting

Question

Prior to 11, alerts were managed on the server where one could specify which nodes to send alerts on. I am working on the latest version now and can't find where to remove certain nodes from having alerts sent when they reboot. I have a group of printers that I want to gather stats only on, and they get rebooted quite often, which will send out at least 3 alerts and 3 resets. I want to suppress alerting for those printers along with the associated switch ports they connect to, and just want to collect statistics.

And it looks like you may be comparing Basic Alert Manager vs the web based alerting in v11. You should really be comparing Advanced Alert Manager in pre-v11 to the Web based alerting in v11. There should be no difference between these two in terms of the ability to exclude nodes. The options provided by hejman08‌ are the most common approaches.

Well, there's a couple ways I can think to do this without directly having access to a SW environment at this exact moment to play around:

1) You can exclude the nodes from the trigger conditions of the alerts if your environment is small enough to do it (something like caption is not *** or similar)

2) You can create a custom property for all nodes where it is a boolean for "is this exact alert enabled? yes/no" and exclude any node where that custom property is no or only include ones where it is a yes.

There are probably easier, less involved, less complicated ways to do this, but those are 2 I can think of right before going to bed
