Can the Node Warning Level be greater than the Node Polling interval?

Question for all you helpful people out there. I have always understood that the Node Warning Level (NWL) should NOT be greater than the Node Poll Interval (NPI) because the two polls are on separate schedules and it would cause a problem if a node happened to still be in the "fast poll" when the normal schedule poll interval came up. Is this true? Can the NWL be greater than the NPI? If so, when might this even be beneficial?

ideally it should not be greater as the whole reason of having the warning state is that we get to know that the device is having some issues and we get alerted before the device is actually reported down...and another adv is that if there are just flapping issues then you are saved of multiple tickets incase you are having the alerts being sent to a ticketing platform...

Thank you for the reply, but I'm not sure it answers my primary question. Is it a problem if a node is in "fast poll" (the NWL) when it becomes time for a scheduled poll on the same node (the NPI)?

Still looking for a definitive answer on this one. Will there be a problem if a non-responding node is still in the node warning countdown when the normal scheduled status poll comes up? Should the Node Warning Level always be equal to or less than the status poll interval?
