Microsoft MS10-040 update causing issues for NPM Web Console

We have installed this patch on our Windows 2003 64-bit server where SolarWinds NPM is installed, and it has caused the NPM Web Console to become unavailable. Once the update was removed, the Web Console came right back up. Has anyone experience this kind of issue before?

Hi Andrey,

I am not able to reproduce it here in Solarwinds on Windows 2003 server x64. Can you provide more info about the environment you have, please? Version of browser, framework, regional settings or number of other patches installed would be helpful.

I just upgraded to NPM 10.0 and this MS patch is scheduled to be applied this week. I hope i don't have the same issue when it gets applied. What version of NPM are you running?

I'm running version 9.1, but planning on upgrading to 10 next week. Let me know how it goes.

We have 9.5.1 and I had a console outage after the following patches were installed:

KB979482
KB978695
KB980195
KB975562

Win 2003 32 bit

I removed the patches and everything was working again. Maybe it was a fluke but it is interesting that there is now more than one server having issues post updates.

We experienced the same problem and remove the 4 patches brought the web server back to life.

Our custom map is missing, but at least we have the web interface working again.

It's version 9.5.1 on Windows server 2003 (32-bit). I used both IE7 and FireFox 3.6.

yep. Removing the patches has solved it for me and the custom map was not missing. I'm now thinking about upgrading to version 10 and see how it goes.
