Creating a map for a limited number of devices

folks

i have a map created with all my routers which is the default web page of the server, i.e. i just http://devicename

i now want to create another map with a limited number of routers for a specific group of users

if i create a new map will it overwrite the existing default site is does it generate another site and therefore another url?

The new map will not become the defualt map unless you select it to be-

-> for your specific group of Users- You may click on MAP -> Map properties and check the "Remove Nodes that users do not have permission to view" button.

Is this feature working? I have users created with an account limitation which correctly works to limit the nodes list, top 10 lists, etc. I chose this option on the map they see. It has no effect - toggling the option produces the exact same effect (all nodes appear on the map, when you drill in you get an access denied message.) I verified the map is refreshing in the browser after saving in mapmaker by moving some of the nodes. This is in 8.5.1 sp3.

If you are still seeing nodes on a map that are restricted by an account limitation, then check the map itself in MapMaker. Specifically, open the map, right click in a blank area and select Map Properties.

I am guessing that you will find that you have the Override Account Limitations for this Map set to "Allow all users to view all nodes on this map". If you select the "Remove" option, the map will not show nodes that are on a user's account limitation.
