How to monitor Solarwinds Orion services

Hi, we are running NPM 9.1 sp4 along with APM and NTA. In the past 2 years, NPM was unresponsive about 4 times and of the 4 times, the majority has been during the weekend. The problem this poses is that we don't have any logging during that time.

So inorder to eleviate this problem, I was wondering if there is a 3rd party tool we can use to monitor Solarwinds services. So that way I'm not relying on NPM to send alerts.

I really like Microsoft's SCOM for this (previously known as MOM); I have all the multitude of SW services monitored and I get SMS/Email whenever they go down, get slow or go unresponsive. It's not really worth the purchase price or implementation difficulty just for SW stuff but it's a nice product for a variety of application-oriented monitoring tasks.

Created VBS script that runs every 10 minutes on a seperate system. The script does the following: 1. ping NMS server and ping SQL server, 2. Perform WMI query. 3 Verify services up and running 4. Perform a SQL query
